• PRESENTATIONS:

Dream Big... No Regrets

An interactive presentation suitable for individual classes as well as large groups in the media center or auditorium. This presentation with media shares my road to publication, the inspiration behind NIL, and secrets of the Nil series. It gives students a behind-the-scenes look at the publication process, and reveals how a book goes from conception to bookshelf, using my journey as a backdrop. We'll also talk about what make a plot--and a novel--unputdownable!:) Fun and interactive, this presentation appeals to readers and non-readers alike! It's my most popular presentation.

Plot Like A Pro

A  craft-focused presentation best suited for classrooms or smaller groups. This interactive presentation shared writing tips and techniques, and it teaches students how to craft a plot that sings and a character with depth. An excellent small group session for creative writing classes. My most popular craft-based workshop!


Voice in Fiction:

A  craft-focused presentation best suited for classrooms or smaller groups. What is voice? How do you find yours as a writer, and how do you craft one for your character? This interactive presentation answers those questions and more, helping students to become more critical thinkers and stronger writers.

School Visit Full Day $500  -- Up to 4 sessions (60 min each) + 2 autograph sessions

School Visit Half Day $250 -- Up to 2 sessions (60 min each) + 1 autograph session

Keynote $500

Note: Outside Duval, St. Johns, or Clay County, FL—add mileage. If the school is located more than 3 hours away, the school is responsible for my hotel cost as well.

Thank you for speaking to our students at FBHS this week! You rocked! The students and I loved your powerpoint presentation and all the interesting animation and pictures that you incorporated into it! I appreciate that you talked to the students about several different things like the writing process, where you got your idea for the book, showing them your manuscript and all its little yellow sticky notes. It was nice to see the different print versions of Nil and the different first cover and how it changed and why. The students were engaged the entire time and they loved that you did a raffle for a free book or T-shirt! My library traffic has picked up with students wanting not only Nil but now Nil Unlocked! We can't wait for Nil on Fire! Again, the teachers, students, and I were very impressed with meeting you!
